Incredibly rare, potentially match-worn Hummel shirt, as worn by Lumezzane in Serie C. This shirt poses so many questions; why is it so similar in design (but still different) to the 1997-98 fourth shirt? What’s with the cryptic “SR” neck tags? What about that rear number? Here’s what I’ve found. The 1997-98 was similar, yes, but the colour of the contrasting shirt pattern was noticeably different to this one, meaning this must be the 1998-99 third shirt (the home and away strips are documented online). The SR tags? I must say, it’s one I’ve not seen before. However, a few other match-worn examples of Hummel Lumezzane shirts I have found online also have the same tags, so it isn’t just this shirt. Late 90’s player-spec Hummel is always hard to find information on, so I’ll welcome an expert opinion on what SR means. Finally; the number. In 1990’s Italian football, particularly lower league football, the manufacturers did provide branded numbers for their player-spec shirts, with aftermarket numbers (for use in Sunday league and by fans, etc) often were not branded and were pretty generic. So, using all of this, I have deduced that this rare shirt is the 1998-99 third shirt, and that it is at the VERY least match-prepared (more than likely, fully worn in a match.)
