This one is a bit of a mystery. A stunning mystery, but a mystery nonetheless. No photos of this beauty seem to exist anywhere and finding any information at all about it has been very difficult.

This shirt, produced during Udinese’s brief stint with ABM from 1986-90, isn’t a home strip. So… what is it then? There are a number of possibilities.

It could be: 

A training shirt, worn by Udinese players during training games.

A strip produced for one of Udinese’s youth sides that was never used by the first team. This sounds far-fetched but is actually rather common for Italian sides of this era, who frequently handed out slightly altered shirts to youth sides, with either different sponsors or designs from those used by the senior team (this would explain the printed number 11).

A prototype shirt produced by ABM to pitch a design to Udinese that was declined by the club or, for whatever reason, did not make it to full production.

Like I said, a stunning mystery.

Condition - Excellent overall condition, with only very minor signs of wear to the material and badges. One small hole to seam between cuff and sleeve on one arm, no more than a couple of centimetres wide.
